Contractor Estimate Template
For small trade contractors and handymen who quote from a notepad or an old spreadsheet. Build the estimate from your own labor rates and price book, print a clean quote that never shows your costs, then follow each job from quoted to paid.
Excel and Google Sheets · Instant download from Etsy · No macros, no subscription

What it does
- An Estimate builder: pick labor roles and price-book items, and markup, waste and sales tax are applied for you.
- A clean, printable Quote with deposit, assumptions and terms. Your costs, markup and margin never print.
- A Jobs list that follows each quote from Quoted to Paid, with actual costs, gross profit, invoice dates and balance due.
- A Payments log for deposits, progress payments and refunds, with duplicate checks.
- A Dashboard: open quotes, win rate, work in hand, balance due with past-due dollars, and profit by job type.
- Checks that flag a bad entry before it reaches the quote or your totals; the quote says DRAFT until they’re clear.
What you get
- An Excel workbook filled with a fictional electrical contractor, with a price book and 18 jobs, and a BLANK copy for your business.
- A Google Sheets edition: a PDF with Make my copy links that save your own private copy to Google Drive.
- Six tabs: Start Here, Dashboard, Estimate, Quote, Jobs and Payments.
- Holds 25 jobs, 25 price-book items, 3 labor roles and 1,000 payments.
What it needs
Desktop Microsoft Excel or Microsoft 365 on Windows or Mac; free Excel for the web; or Google Sheets with a free Google account. No macros.
Before you buy
The workbook applies the sales tax rate and basis you choose. Tax rules depend on the job, contract type and location; confirm the basis with your CPA or your state’s tax office.
Read the user guide to see every step before you buy. It’s the same guide that comes with the files. Questions? Message the shop on Etsy, or email support@poshjoshllc.com.
