Common questions

Do I need internet to use Claim Binder?

No. Taking photos, scanning receipts and documents, logging items and expenses, and viewing your claim all work in Airplane Mode. Everything is saved on your iPhone the moment you enter it. iCloud syncing, family sharing and buying the unlock need a connection, and they catch up when you're back online.

Is my claim backed up?

If iCloud is turned on for Claim Binder, your claims are stored in your own iCloud as well as on your iPhone. The backup badge on the claim screen shows when it last synced.

You can also save a full claim backup from Settings and backup. It's a single .zip file with every original photo, receipt and document in plain folders, plus a PDF report and an Excel workbook, and it opens on any computer without the app. You can protect it with a password. Saving a backup is always free.

How do I move my claim to a new iPhone?

Sign in to the new iPhone with the same Apple Account, turn on iCloud, and install Claim Binder. Your claims download from iCloud. If you saved a full backup file, you can also restore from it in Settings and backup.

Can my family see and add to the claim?

Yes. In Settings and backup, choose Invite someone to share an event, such as a hurricane, with all of its claims, photos and documents. Each person needs an iPhone, Claim Binder and their own Apple Account. Sharing doesn't work with Android phones, but anyone can open the reports you export.

I deleted something by mistake.

Deleted photos, items, expenses, payments and documents stay in Recently deleted for 30 days. Open Settings and backup, then Recently deleted, and restore it.

What does the $19.99 unlock include?

The free version covers one open claim at a time with unlimited photos and up to 10 items and 10 expenses. The one-time unlock removes those limits for every future claim and adds Excel and CSV export. Full backups and a basic PDF report are always free, and your records are never locked behind the unlock.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are made through Apple, so Apple handles refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Can Claim Binder tell me what my claim is worth?

No. Claim Binder organizes your records and adds up the amounts you enter. It doesn't value claims, interpret policies, or give legal or insurance advice. For general guidance, Texas homeowners can contact the Texas Department of Insurance; other states have a similar insurance department.

How do I delete all my data?

Delete the claim or event inside the app, then delete the app. To remove its iCloud data too, open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, and manage storage for Claim Binder. We have no copy of your data to delete.
